The first T20 World Cup final, between India and Pakistan, came down to the last over. It ended with Misbah-ul-Haq’s scoop and Sreesanth’s catch at short fine leg.
India won the toss and batted. Gautam Gambhir top-scored with 75 off 54 balls and Rohit Sharma added 30 not out off 16, taking India to 157/5. Umar Gul took 3/28.

Then he tried to scoop over short fine leg, and Sreesanth took the catch: Pakistan all out for 152 in 19.3 overs, India champions by 5 runs. Irfan Pathan, with 3/16, was Man of the Match; RP Singh also took three wickets.
